In classrooms, Lecture halls, and Science laboratories worldwide, one should find a tool that I have referred to my Chemistry, Earth Science, and Geology students as “the ULTIMATE Cheatsheet” – the Periodic Table.
Yes, it has gotten a “bad rap” over the years. It might appear dilapidated and discolored, hanging from metal chains with its curled, dust-covered lamination fraying on the corners. Perhaps it is even “out-of-date”, as it does not show all 118 elements; tending to be ignored, overlooked or neglected. Misunderstood, it becomes a forgotten old poster, or an unwanted piece of furniture.
In my view, however, the 150 year old Periodic Table is a work of both “Art” and “Genius” that can, and should be, understood by ALL. Not just a “select” few…
In celebration of the 2019 International Year of the Periodic Table of the Elements, here is my latest video is entitled, “Professor HAMILTON’s Deciphering of the Period Table”.
“Study well”!
